Carly and Tristian are family of good friends of mine. I was absolutely honoured to be asked to photograph their Yarra Valley wedding. It’s always so special when I know people at a wedding.

I love photographing Yarra Valley Weddings, it’s so beautiful out there and seems a million miles away even though it’s only an hour. Carly and Tristian chose Sanctuary Harvest, in the gorgeous Healesville Sanctuary. Sanctuary Harvest weddings do not disappoint. It is such a beautiful dining room with the stone wall feature, there is a beautiful lawn framed by tall eucalyptus trees and also a lovely, sheltered balcony in case of rain. Lucky for Carly and Tristian as it really didn’t stop all day. There was a bit of drizzle in the morning as I was driving to this beautiful Yarra Valley Wedding, and I was a little worried for them, but you get what you get and I think their wedding photos are so special because they’re different. Neither of them nor their bridal party battered an eye at the rain which made the day so much fun.

It was an emotional journey down the aisle for Carly, walked don by her brother and her Mother, having lost her Dad not too long ago. Tristian’s daughter was also very emotional, watching her Dad marry a women they both love so much. Jay Allen delivered a lighthearted, funny and relaxed ceremony. There were lots of tears and the arbour of this Sanctuary Harvest Wedding, but lots of laughs too.

We didn’t need to go anywhere for photos as Sanctuary Harvest Weddings are spoilt for choice. It rained the hole time, but the bridal party did not falter. I took the couple under the pergola for some sheltered photos too. Such an amazingly chilled out couple.

Jay Allen was the MC as well for this awesome Sanctuary Harvest Wedding, and made the evening so much fun.

The food at this Sanctuary Harvest Wedding was SO yum. The canapés are seriously second to none (and I’ve tried a lot of wedding canapés in my time). Sanctuary Harvest cooked the meat outside in a smoker as the wedding was taking place. It made our mouthes water all day in anticipation.
